Tell us about your role at SquareGPS.
My role at SquareGPS is to manage the LATAM team and all of their responsibilities. I lead the sales, marketing, and technical support teams in the region, as well as seek new business opportunities, and creating strategic alliances with business partners.
How long have been with the company?
I have been with the company for a year and seven months.
How did you get started in the industry?
I started working in the automotive industry more than 25 years ago and more than 18 years ago I started in the telematics and GPS tracking industry.
How has your role evolved over time since you’ve been here?
It has been a very interesting challenge since I have taken on the role of general manager of the LATAM region. Learning about financial strategy and business legal issues has led me to have a more strategic vision of the entire business as opposed to just the vision sales manager.
What do you like most about the work we do here? What are you most proud of in your career so far?
What I love most about my job at SquareGPS is that we are constantly innovating and growing as a global company. My greatest pride is the expansion of the Navixy product in LATAM that my team and I are in charge of and the success we had during the Expo Seguridad Mexico in 2022.
How would you describe your company culture? What do you think makes our team culture unique?
Our company culture is very inclusive and adaptive to the changes we are experiencing in globalization. What makes our team culture unique is the diversity of cultures that work in it and how they merge with each other to achieve a unique global team.
What do you love to do outside of work?
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, attending reunions, or visiting vineyards, magical towns, and tourist attractions in the area I live in.
What piece of advice would you give to your younger self?
My advice to my younger self would be to be a little less analytical and a little more adventurous in his decision-making. Have a different perspective on things rather than just the rational one.
Anything else you would like to share?
Thank you to all of my colleagues for offering their support when I needed it. In addition, I welcome new talent to SquareGPS, where they will find great professional and work challenges to help them grow.
Keep up the good work, Julio! To learn more about the work we do at Navixy, follow us on Linkedin, Twitter, and Facebook.
