GoSafe G777
GoSafe G777 is a vehicle telematics unit that easily plugs into a vehicle’s OBDII port of almost any car. It’s the simple version of G797 device. It can’t read telemetry data from vehicle diagnostic system, but controls ignition status in various ways and detects harsh driving. The possible applications for G777 are Fleet and mobile workforce management, Usage Based Insurance, Car Rental, and Teenage driver tracking.
Package contents
The G777 device is supplied to the customer in a cardboard box containing all the equipment that is necessary for operation.

Location and tracking
G777 model is embedded with GPS chip with the support of GLONASS technology as well. It also support Assisted GPS (A-GPS) technology. As the back-up, when no satellites signals are available, it uses Cell ID location (also known as LBS-tracking).
The tracking mode is flexible configured: by moving every 100m, and every 60 sec, and on turning on 30 degrees by default. When there is no movement, tracker sends data every 180 seconds.
OBDII data reading
G777 does not read any data from vehicle’s diagnostic system such as speed, engine RPM, coolant temperature, MIL, DTC codes, etc. It only takes power supply from OBDII port and can read board voltage.
Mobile networks
G777 has a Quad-band GSM 2G module so it can be operated all over the world.
Power supply
G777 uses OBD II Connector Type A and voltage range 10-16V, which makes possible to install it on cars. Device also features an optional built-in rechargeable backup battery. When fully charged it ensures about 1 hour of device operation (in normal conditions).
Local and remote management
GoSafe G777 tracker can be controlled over GPRS and it supports firmware updating via GPRS (FOTA). Also, there is a wide list of SMS commands, on which device always replies back. In particular, Server address and port, APN settings can be applied remotely with SMS.
You can also configure G777 from a PC using proprietary software and standard USB-cable which is included into package.
LED Indication
G777 has three LEDs:
- Green GSM LED: indicates GSM/GPRS mode
- Yellow GPS LED: indicates GPS reception
- Red Power LED: indicates power status
