Teltonika FM3200
Teltonika FM3200 is a portable vehicle GPS/GLONASS tracker with the GSM connectivity. It can be a solution of various problems for business and common consumers. For example, it can be used in taxi park, logistics and public transport companies.
It works with GPS and GLONASS systems and has an internal and external GNSS antennas. All the events inside the vehicle will be detected and transformed into reports via GPRS or SMS services.
This device has an accelerometer to control a motion of a vehicle. FM3200 also has a capacious built-in memory chip that can store 50.000 records and system indexes.
Package contents
Teltonika FM3200 device is supplied to the customer in a cardboard box containing all the equipment that is necessary for operation. The package contains:
- The FM3200 device.
- Input and output power supply cable with a 1×6 connection pins.
- GPS antenna
- USB cable
Location and tracking
FM3200 model is embedded with both GLONASS and GPS. It doesn’t support Assisted GPS (A-GPS) technology. As the back-up, when no satellites signals are available, it uses Cell ID location (also known as LBS-tracking).
The tracking mode is flexible configured: by moving every 100m, and every 60 sec, and on turning on 30 degrees by default. When there is no movement (detected by “Ignition” status), tracker sends data every 180 seconds.
Mobile networks
FM3200 can work with GSM 900/1800 MHz networks only.
Interfaces
FM3200 model features such interfaces as
- USB port,
- 2 digital inputs,
- 2 digital outputs.
Power supply
FM3200 uses and voltage range 10-30V, which makes possible to install it both on cars and trucks. Device also features an optional built-in rechargeable backup battery. When fully charged it ensures about 2 hour of device operation (in normal conditions).
Sleep mode
FM3200 can enter sleep mode (standby mode) under two conditions:
- FM3200 does not detect movement.
- FM3200 does not send or receive any data for 5 minutes.
This means that if coordinate recording interval is less than 5 minutes, FM3200 will never go to sleep mode. FM3200 exits sleep mode when it detects movement again. While in sleep mode, FM3200 sets GPS receiver to sleep mode, therefore it does not record or send any data. The power usage also decreases saving vehicle’s battery.
Local and remote management
Teltonika FM3200 tracker can’t be controlled over GPRS, though it supports firmware updating via GPRS (FOTA). However, there is a wide list of SMS commands in a ASCII format, on which device always replies back. In particular, Server address and port, APN settings can be applied remotely with SMS. To decrease the amount of SMS required for configuration SMS in binary format can be also used.
You can also configure FM3200 from a PC using proprietary software (Teltonika Configurator) and standard USB-cable which is included into package.
LED Indication
FM3200 has three status LEDs:
- Modem LED: indicates GSM/GPRS mode
- Status LED: indicates system Power
- Navigation LED: indicates GPS reception
