# Sleep mode

Configure power-save sleep conditions on a battery GPS device in Navixy with the Sleep mode block. Available fields depend on the device model.

Controls how a battery-powered device sleeps to save power. A sleeping device reports less often, which extends battery life on assets that aren't continuously powered.

## Settings

The fields depend on the device. You may see:

* **Sleep conditions**: what triggers sleep mode, engine off, no motion, or no communication from the Navixy platform.
* **Sleep and deep-sleep durations**: how long a condition must hold before the device enters light sleep or deep sleep. Light sleep reduces reporting frequency; deep sleep cuts it further to save more power.
* **Wake-up intervals**: how often the device wakes to report while in sleep or deep-sleep mode.
* **Voltage thresholds**: on some models, the battery voltage levels that trigger light or deep sleep.
* **Stay online on external power**: on some models, a toggle to stay in active mode when the device is connected to external power.

## Availability

Appears on battery-powered device models that expose sleep settings.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://navixy.com/docs/user/guide/devices-and-settings/device-specific-controls/power-management/sleep-mode.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
